Alexander Comminos is an emerging artist in the field of ceramics, ceramic sculpture and visual abstraction.  His sculptures and paintings are personal expressions that convey a mixture of a harmonious and combative relationship through his media of choice. He manipulates and transforms the material to express his passion and channel his artistic expression.  A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Alexander studied under renowned professors Xavier Toubes Vilarino and Patricia Rieger. His sculptural and illustrative style is reminiscent of Jonathan Borofsky, while his larger ceramic constructions are homage to ceramic artists Paul Soldner and Peter Voulkos.

Alexander and his wife reside in San Antonio, Texas. He recently completed his three year apprenticeship to internationally renowned artist Jun Kaneko and the Kaneko Studio located in Omaha, Nebraska. Jun Kaneko is recognized as one of the foremost ceramic sculptors in the world. Alexander uses light, color and form to manipulate his environment to his liking. His pieces can be found across the country from New York to California
